Virgo – Part 2

Part 2

Part 2 of our Virgo journey is about the element and quality of Virgo. Virgo is in the Earth family and is Mutable in nature.

The Earth Family is more self-explanatory than the other families. As you would expect from earth, it’s characteristics are grounded, has more affinity with what it can touch, hear, see, smell, taste, are practical, dependable, and conservative.

Virgo’s sisters…Taurus (whose quality is Fixed), and Capricorn (whose quality is Cardinal) have some of the same characteristics. Virgo’s quality is Mutable. That means, while still a whole lot of stubborn, she may be more adaptable and flexible in situations than her siblings…more open to change.

Now, let’s all gain a perspective on EVERYTHING that gets said in this blog, whether we’re Virgo or not! Descriptors, traits, tendencies of any zodiac sign are being stated as if that sign is in a vacuum or not influenced by anything else. And, that is never the case. There are lots of factors to be considered in each person’s natal chart. It is why even if you are the same sun sign as someone else, you could appear very, very different.

For every member of the Earth family, the key to personal expansion is to trust in other aspects of your life outside of your five physical senses. For Virgo, in particular, focus on making things more fun! Everything does not have to be so serious. Most of you like fun and schedules…make sure you schedule some fun!

If things don’t happen like they are supposed to, it is not the end of the world. There is another force at play! Get it? Play!!!!!!!!! Be flexible. Everything happens for a reason. It doesn’t mean you are not reliable.

Entertain perspectives that are not the same as yours. Doesn’t mean you need to change yours, or that yours are wrong. There are a lot of valid reasons people do what they do. Open your heart to them.

And because everything exists in dualities in Astrology, take a few pointers from your opposite sign, Pisces. Go with the flow. dabble in some art, do charity work jus’ cuz. Be the Cosmic Hippie..wow, peace out, man.

Stay tuned for Virgo – Part 3 in a few days. And, in the meantime, Be Happy!

Until the next time we pass this way…Much Love and Blessings along Your Journey,

Michal Donna

Virgo

Part 1

Hello There! Hope everyone is doing well this Virgo Season of 2021.

We are about half-way through this wonderful time of the year, where the weather is changing, the earth colors are changing, and we are changing…Getting ready for the new season of Fall, of Libra, using all that discerning Virgo energy to bring it on home.

Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac. It’s an Earth Sign and it’s quality or modality is Mutable. It is ruled by Mercury and rules the 6th House of the astrology chart.

So whoopdeedoo! What does that all mean? Let’s break it down…

It’s helpful to think about zodiac energies as just that, energy. And energy, as we know, can be used for productivity or destructiveness, depending on who is using the energy and for what. It’s like the “good” angel and the “bad” angel sitting on opposite shoulders. It’s like the story about the two wolves and which one you choose to let thrive. Everything is a double-edged sword.

Virgo is #6. Half-way through the zodiac. It represents the middle ground. The culmination of Spring and Summer. The flow before the work of Fall and Winter.

In it’s heightened state, Virgo energy is super-productive, discerning, methodical, fact-based, humane and seeks the highest level of excellence in anything it does. Representatives of this in the public eye are Beyonce, Padma Laksmi, Selma Hayek, Keanu Reeves, John Mulaney, and Idris Elba.

An imbalance of Virgo energy can be seen as persnickety, self-centered, melancholy, over-critical, micromanaging, and high-strung. While we know people of both persuasions and know it can be directed outward, we can definitely see that kind of energy in famous people like Michael Jackson. A real-life example of the imbalanced energy turned on oneself. A magnificently talented soul who was never enough…especially for himself.

While Michael Jackson’s Virgo-ness was not the only mitigating factor in his self-perception, it is an example of the double-edged sword I spoke about earlier.

And the interesting thing is that all of us are a little Virgo, in different ways and in different areas of our lives. Some of us have Virgo on our second house cusp concerning our personal money, possessions, self-value, and self-esteem. Some of us have Virgo on our tenth house cusp where it affects our career and the way we would like to be in the very public domain of our lives.

Where in your life are you a Virgo? Let’s check it out! Schedule a reading here!

Until the next time we pass this way…Much Love and Blessings along Your Journey,

Michal Donna

Fun Facts about the Gregorian vs. Lunar Calendar

All my life I thought everybody went by the same calendar! Well, except the Mayans, and we know how that went!

I discovered the Lunar calendar when I started practicing Kabbalah. And was fascinated by how it affected astrology because…

  1. The zodiac cycles are different, and,
  2. A person can be two different zodiac signs

Let’s look at the Gregorian Calendar…

The Gregorian calendar is 365 days long, and is sectioned into 12 months of 30-31 days, except for February and leap year is designated every 4 years.

Zodiac signs run from around the 21st of each month to around the 21st of the following month. So, Aries is from March 21 to April 19, Taurus is from April 20 to May 20, etc.

Now, the Lunar Calendar…

The Lunar calendar is tied to the moon phases and cycle which yields a year 354 days long. Each lunar month is 29 1/2 days and leap years occur 7 times every 19 years depending on when an extra month (rather than one day) collects. And then, the lunar leap year logs two months of Pisces.

Zodiac signs run with the moon cycles, which may or may not coincide with the Gregorian calendar cycle. For example, the 2021 Lunar Aries ran from March 14 to April 12. The Lunar cycle was one week off from the Gregorian cycle. The Virgo New Moon started Virgo in the Lunar calendar on August 9. Two full weeks ahead of the Gregorian cycle.

The Bottom Line

To know whether you have a different sun sign in the Gregorian and Lunar calendars, you can use this website, www.hebcal.com. You will just need your date of birth. Your birth time only matters if you end up near the end or start of a new lunar month. And then you only need know if you were born before sunset or after sunset on your birth date.
