Why Astrology?

I asked one of my favorite Capricorns what astrology was to him. He answered, “Eh, data points.” So, whether you’re looking for data points or an explanation for those feelings you just can’t shake, astrology is a message from the stars for direction, confirmation, or a starting-a-new-journey moment.

The History

The first mention of astrology that I am acquainted with is the Sefer Yetzirah, the Book of Formation. Abraham the Patriarch was a significant contributor to this book and contributed the astrological parts. Its interpretation and use has been honed through the ages by many scholars in all parts of the globe. It is a field that is both far and wide and equally as deep, in its minutiae and meaning. As I have frequently mentioned to my clients, I could read a natal chart for 300 years and not get to the bottom of it!

It’s Use

Most are confused by horoscopes you see in the media or the fun articles these days of like The Laziest Zodiac Sign, or What Dog You Should Own According to Your Zodiac Sign. What is the difference between what you see in the media and an astrology reading? Because to tell you the truth, all the zodiac signs can be lazy in their own way and your zodiac sign does not dictate what breed of dog you should own! It’s all very generalized information (because it has to be) and may or may not pertain to you as an individual. Too much detail to get into here and probably way more detail than most want. Suffice it to say that your astrology is very personal and dependent on a lot more than just your Sun Sign.

What you can use astrology for is guidance. Because we have free will and even if someone should have an almost identical natal chart to yours (i.e. twins), we each have responsibility for our own personal soul. That is why no two of the same astrological sign seems to be alike. The chart wheel changes every 4 minutes. That doesn’t seem like a lot, and it’s enough to shift placements of big things in your natal blueprint.

So, speaking of your natal blueprint…that is the place to start. For any of the charts below, there are some details about YOU, I will need to know…

• Your Birth Date-which you probably know already!
• Your Place of Birth-which you probably also know already!
• Your Birth Time-this item most people don’t know unless they have had a chart reading done in the past. It can be found, in most instances, on your birth certificate. If it is not on your birth certificate, the hospital where you were born will probably have it. If your hospital is not in existence anymore, your parents are a good source of a ‘ballpark’ time. If none of those sources are available to you, we can cast a Solar Chart which will give you 70% of your astrological information. Also available is a process called Chart Rectification.
